A Sarasota man was seriously injured Sunday night after his motorcycle ran off the road and he was ejected from the vehicle.
Joseph Gaeta Jr., 54, was taken to Blake Medical Center with serious injuries, a Florida Highway Patrol report states.
The report states Gaeta was driving southbound on Interstate 75 in the center travel lane near the University Parkway exit, when he changed from the center travel lane to the left inside travel lane.
Gaeta failed to maintain control of his Suzuki 1000 CC, however, and the motorcycle overturned, the report states.
The motorcycle traveled about 285 feet in a southerly direction before coming to a final rest in the center travel lane.

- We witnessed this accident last night. It was my birthday and were heading home from picking up our kids from grandmas. I prayed for this man as my one birthday wish that he would be ok. Glad to see he is still holding on. PRAISE JESUS!!
