By the end of the week, the front wall inside McNeal Elementary School will have much more character — or, you could say, characters.
Parent volunteer and muralist Mercedes Movilla is working on a mural to put a more welcoming touch in the lobby area. The painting will depict a line of children as illustrated in the book “The Bus.”
Movilla, a muralist by profession, began the project Tuesday and expects to have the mural completed by this Friday.
“I’m very excited,” she said. “This is the school of my kids.”
Two of Movilla’s children have graduated from McNeal already and her youngest daughter attends there currently.
