You may have seen landscaping crews sprucing up the closed Dairy Queen site on State Road 70, and it’s for a good reason.
Dean Peters, spokesperson for Dairy Queen, confirmed Wednesday the location just west of Interstate 75 will soon be ready for business.
“We expect to reopen as a Dairy Queen by the end of the new year under new management,” he said.
The East County DQ location closed Nov. 7, 2008, because the owner no longer wanted to be franchisee, Peters said. It has been vacant since that time.
