+ SCF Trustees will negotiate settlement
The State College of Florida Board of Trustees voted Oct. 23 to negotiate a settlement with embattled President Lars Hafner at a special meeting.

Carlos Beruff, board chairman, announced a motion to hire council from Krunkel, Miller and Hamnet, a Sarasota law firm, which will inform the trustees how they can handle Hafner’s employment status.
The law firm was slated to meet with Hafner’s attorney to decide the president’s fate by Oct. 30, after the East County Observer went to press.
The motions passed unanimously. Hafner has been accused of making poor financial decisions.
