The Manatee County Sheriff’s Office will hold its first National Candle Light Vigil at 6:30 p.m., Oct. 29, at the Manatee County Judicial Center, 1051 Manatee Ave. W., Bradenton.
The vigil is being held in remembrance of individuals who have lost their lives to drug and alcohol-related incidents and those suffering from addiction and as a reminder of the importance of substance abuse prevention, education and treatment.
Attendees will hear from local parents, watch a video and be able to pay their respects at a special memorial wall.

Dancing group to host fundraiser

Members of KC and the Sunshine Dancers, a group of Manatee County dancers ages 8 to 20, will show off their dancing skills in jazz, hip-hop and contemporary dance from 7 to 9 p.m. May 28, as the group holds a show titled "Breaking Ground."
