Dr. Robert George, associate dean of academic affairs at the Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine Bradenton, was selected as a Great Pioneer in osteopathic medicine by the American Osteopathic Association’s Bureau of History and Identity.
The bureau selects Great Pioneers from nominations received from members of the profession. Candidates are nominated based on the significant contributions they have made to the profession, especially accomplishments that were the first of their kind within osteopathic medicine, or that were directly responsible for the growth of the profession.
George will receive the Great Pioneers medal during the AOA’s annual convention and scientific seminar Nov. 3 in New Orleans.
