Commuters along Bradenton’s State Road 64 corridor will soon have another place to fill their gas tanks and grab a cup of coffee.
The Mobil gas station and convenience store at 10508 S.R. 64 E., in Portal Crossing, is expected to be complete by February 2010. J.E. Charlotte Construction Corp. is leading the project owned by Convenience Center Development Associates.
The project carries a $952,000 price tag and employs up to 50 workers during construction and as many as 12 full-time employees upon opening.
“This type of project is something J.E. Charlotte Construction has managed many times before,” said Jeff Charlotte, president of the Venice-based firm. “In this tough economy, these smaller-scale projects can be the lifeblood of community development by keeping construction workers employed and bringing new businesses and jobs to the area. We look forward to completing this project on time and hopefully partnering with the owners for additional projects in the future.”
