Manatee County Habitat volunteers and homeowners will celebrate the completion of two more homes in the Washington Park community with a home dedication celebration at noon, Oct. 10, in the neighborhood, which is located at Second Avenue West and 25th Street West in Palmetto.
The excited families receiving homes are those of Keosha Newton, a kindergarten teacher with two young children, and Cory Hills, a single dad with three daughters.
The new homes will be featured in the upcoming event “Habitat Chic: The Design Challenge” on Nov. 14. For that event, HGTV design star Jason Champion and “Chic on the Cheap” author Mark Dalton will face off in an “Iron Chef”-style competition as they design using donated items and furnishings from Habitat’s ReStore to decorate each home.
