The Dakin Dairy Farms Farm Festival Saturday celebrates five years of agritourism.
The festival, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at 30771 Betts Road, Myakka City, has two competitions that are open to the public: a mac and cheese cook-off and a 5K run.
Other activities include games, food, artists, demonstrations and live music featuring Kim Betts & Gamble Creek Band and more.
Admission is $15.

MTI hosts 9/11 blood drive
As the nation remembers the terrorist attacks of Sept. 11, 2001, Manatee Technical Institute will commemorate the tragedy with a blood drive from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Sept. 10 and Sept. 11, at its main campus, 6305 State Road 70 East, in front of Braden River High Schol.
