Manatee County Sheriff's Office detectives are searching for the suspect who stole a key machine containing a master list of the keys to all the banks in Florida.
According to a sheriff's office report, an RBC Bank employee was working on an air-conditioning unit at about 2 p.m., Friday, at the bank's location at 7366, 52nd Place E., Creekwood. Unknown person(s) stole the master key machine from the employee's van.
The machine is capable of making entry outside and inside keys to all of RBC's 112 locations. The machine cannot key the locks to any safe containing U.S. currency. The bank made notifications and made arrangements to secure property.
The key machine is valued at $5,000 and weighs about 150 pounds.
