Late last night, Manatee County deputies received a call from a complainant that a white Ford Ranger without a bumper was driving around the neighborhood and appeared to be the same individuals who were breaking into cars a couple nights ago.
Deputies located and stopped the vehicle, which was traveling east on Tallevast toward Lockwood Ridge. Three men, Christopher Whitson, Jarrod Ditmars and Colton Sherwood, all 21, were asked to step out of the car. As they stepped out, credit cards belonging to a victim of burglary fell to the floor. A backpack also on the floorboard of the car belonged to another victim.
A search of the vehicle discovered three GPSs, a fishing reel, a carton of cigarettes, another credit card, a IPod Nano and other miscellaneous items.
Some of the items in the vehicle have been found to belong to at least two of the victims of burglaries in Sarasota.
Whitson, Ditmars and Sherwood were arrested for burglary, possession of burglary tools and possession of paraphernalia.
