Ranch hospital performs single-incision Lap-Band surgery
Date: September 17, 2009
by: The Observer Staff
Lakewood Ranch Medical Center this morning became the first medical facility on the Suncoast to offer single-incision Lap-Band. Dr. Jose Erbella performed the procedure at the hospital.
This procedure is less invasive than most Lap-Band surgeries because it requires only a single incision through the belly button, which leaves the patient with little to no scar and a quicker recovery time. The Lap-Band Adjustable Gastric Banding System helps patients gradually lose and control their weight by reducing the amount of food a patient’s stomach can hold at one time.
For more information on the procedure, call Erbella’s office, 744-2700
