Manatee County Sheriff's Office deputies discovered a man dead in his home in Braden Woods.
According to sheriff's office reports, on Sept. 16, deputies arrived at the home of Joseph Gueltzow in the 9000 block of 61st Avenue Drive East. Neighbors had not seen the Gueltzow in several days. One neighbor told deputies Gueltzow never left his lawnmower out or his garage door open. Neighbors said it had been this way for a couple of days, and the newspapers were piling up.
Deputies attempted to make contact with the resident. When they were unsuccessful, they entered the unlocked house and found Gueltzow dead on the bathroom floor. There did not appear to be any obvious signs of foul play.
