Manatee County Commissioner Ron Getman announced recently he will not seek a third term on the county’s governing board.
The 65-year-old at-large commissioner said he plans to build his at-home travel agency, which specializes in cruise vacations.
Two candidates already have stepped forward to vie for the District 4 seat, including Republican Robin DeSabatino and Democrat Roger Galle.
Getman has served on the commission since first being elected in 2002.
