The opening of Good Earth Natural Foods has been delayed, but the store is now on schedule for its new target opening date of Sept. 21.
The store had been slated to open Sept. 4, in time for Labor Day weekend and Main Street’s Music on Main event.
“We ran into a problem with our point of sales system,” owner-on-site Dominic Bucci said. “We couldn’t get our cash registers working in time.”
Store owners started interviewing and hiring employees this week and are busy stocking shelves. The food service section is almost completed, Bucci said.
Everything is on target for the soft opening scheduled for Sept. 21, but a grand opening celebration will be scheduled at a later date.
“We’re really looking forward to being out in Lakewood Ranch,” Bucci said. “We think we’re a good fit out here. I think it’s going to be a good fit for everybody.”
