The Manatee County Board of Commissioners offered virtually no discussion after hearing a report about a portion of the 44th Avenue East extension during its regularly scheduled meeting Aug. 25.
Designs for the portion of 44th Avenue East closest to East County, which spans from 30th Street East to 45th Street East, have been started. Thirty percent of the plan is due by December 2009.
Currently, construction plans are 90% complete for the section from First Street East to 15th Street East and 33 parcels have been identified for acquisition. Construction is slated to begin in late 2010.
Revisions to an existing design of 15th Street East intersection are 75% complete, and 29 parcels have been identified for acquisition. Construction will begin in late 2010.
Designs are 30% complete for sections from 15th Street East to 19th Street Court East and from 19th Street East to 30th Street East. All designs are due by December 2009.
