After interviewing 31 candidates for state representative, county commission and school board positions, a subcommittee of the Lakewood Ranch Business Alliance last week announced its political endorsements for this year’s upcoming elections.
The Alliance’s Governmental Affairs Committee is recommending for Manatee County commission: Gwendolyn Brown (District 2), Robin DiSabatino (District 4) and Carol Whitmore (District 6, at-large); for Sarasota County Commission: Joe Barbetta (District 2) and Nora Patterson (District 4); for Manatee County School Board: Barbara Harvey (District 1), Julie Aranibar (District 3), Karen Carpenter (District 5); Sarasota County School Board: Carol Todd (District 1), Shirley Brown (District 4) and Jane Goodwin (District 5).
For the Florida House of Representatives, the Alliance is endorsing Gregg Steube (District 67), Jim Boyd (District 68) and Keith Fitzgerald (District 69).
