Cornerstone Church of Lakewood Ranch broke ground on its new building project during a special ceremony Sunday night.
Members of Cornerstone gathered at 5:30 p.m., June 28. for an informal ground-breaking ceremony, a time of prayer and an ice cream social.
"Within a couple of weeks, we're going to see dirt moving," Pastor Dave Sturkey said.
The $4.2 million building project ultimately will include a new sanctuary, a new entryway and welcome area, more classrooms, a nursery and a coffee shop area.
