Braden River Post VFW 12055 recently installed George Johnston as the organization's new post commander.
Johnston was elected by members in May to succeed Steve Valley, who had served as post commander since 2006.
Since forming in September 2006, the post has grown from 36 to more than 140 members. The group meets at 7 p.m. on the third Wednesday of every month at the American Red Cross Building, 10311 Malachite Drive, Bradenton. For information, contact Johnston at firstname.lastname@example.org.
