Last year, Lakewood Ranch earned its first win in its final game of the season, and it appears as if the Mustangs are still holding on to some of that momentum.
After trailing 14-13 at halftime, the Mustangs reclaimed the lead early in the third quarter when quarterback Reggie Lindsey connected with Damen Gilbert on a 47-yard completion. Lakewood Ranch never looked back as the team went on to defeat Cape Coral Island Coast in its spring game May 29.
Running back Michael Myers gave the Mustangs the lead mid-way through the first quarter, punching the ball in from a yard out. The Gators responded with a pair of touchdowns in the second quarter before Lindsey connected with Octavious Washington for a 13-yard touchdown right before halftime.
