Manatee County Sheriff’s Office deputies are investigating a rash of RV burglaries at an East County storage facility.
According to a sheriff’s office report released Thursday night, sometime between May 14 and May 26, unknown persons entered the 4 Star Storage at 3106 81st Court E. and broke into six RV vehicles. The suspect(s) stole several items, including a GPS, flatscreen TVs, a satellite receiver, car stereos, currency, household items and a .25 caliber semi-automatic pistol.
The fence on the west side of the storage facility had been cut, and detectives believe that may been the entry point.
According to property owner Bob Schackelford, a recent thunderstorm disrupted the video surveillance on the property, but he said he would contact the camera company to see if he can retrieve footage of the burglaries.
