Tara students bring spring musical to life

Third-graders Ariane Machado, Maria Tippy and Melissa Lynch were cast as villagers. -
Prince Nicholas, played by Robert Lynch, 11, searched both far and wide in hopes of finding his perfect bride. -
Fifth-grader Megan Shinham played the role of Queen Minerva. -
Melissa Lynch, 8 and Tahlia Amos, 11, couldn't help but wonder if the prince would ever get married. -
The students performed the Princess and the Pea for their final musical production of the year. -
Danielle Gray, 11, Andrew Deitz, 9 and Megan Shinham, 11, enjoyed performing in front of all their classmates. -
Third-grader Casey Rose starred as King Reginald.

Dancing group to host fundraiser

Members of KC and the Sunshine Dancers, a group of Manatee County dancers ages 8 to 20, will show off their dancing skills in jazz, hip-hop and contemporary dance from 7 to 9 p.m. May 28, as the group holds a show titled "Breaking Ground."
