Three East County elementary schools are on the hunt for new principals.
McNeal, Freedom and Bashaw elementary schools are all in the process of interviewing candidates for the post.
McNeal Elementary will hold a community forum with its three final contenders at 7 p.m., May 14 at the school, 6325 Lorraine Rd.
Freedom Elementary School will hold interviews with select applicants on May 15 and a community forum with the three finalists on May 19.
Bashaw Elementary School will hold interviews on May 21 and a forum with the three finalists on May 26.
The superintendent’s recommendation for all three schools will be presented to the Manatee County School Board for approval on June 8.

Dancing group to host fundraiser

Members of KC and the Sunshine Dancers, a group of Manatee County dancers ages 8 to 20, will show off their dancing skills in jazz, hip-hop and contemporary dance from 7 to 9 p.m. May 28, as the group holds a show titled "Breaking Ground."
