Area youth will soon reap the benefits of a generous donation by a local service organization.
The Kiwanis Club of Bradenton recently donated $65,000 to the Manatee School District's Take Stock in Children Program.
The statewide program, which started in 1995, provides low-income, at-risk children with the opportunity to learn college scholarships through mentoring and other efforts.
For more information about the organization, visit its Web site, www.takestockinchildren.com.
