+Sarasota County deputies investigate a death on Tamiami Trail
The Sarasota County Sheriff's Office is investigating the death of a man found floating in a water retention area in the 8400 block of Tamiami Trail. 

+Two stabbed in robbery attempt at Lakewood Ranch apartment complex
A man was followed to his residence in Lost Creek Apartments by two suspects, where he and a neighbor were stabbed.

+Longboat Key Town Commission chooses new attorney
Maggie D. Mooney-Portale of Sarasota-based Hankin, Persson, McClenathen, Cohen & Darnell was chosen as the town's new attorney Monday night.

+Commissioners approve North Trail Overlay
They also approved a partial fee waiver for the Sarasota Chalk Festival.
