Longboat Key resident John Saputo’s Gold Coast Eagle Distributing received the “Ambassador of Excellence” award at the annual Anheuser-Busch sales and marketing meeting at the Mandalay Bay Casino and Conference Center, in Las Vegas.
“Tonight Show” host Jay Leno, driven by the Budweiser Clydesdale Team, brought the award to the stage.
The “Ambassador of Excellence” award is given to the 15 distributors out of 675 that obtain the highest scores from Anheuser-Busch on categories such as sales, marketing, distribution, human relations, logistics and fleet, according to a news release.
Saputo said in a prepared statement:
“Being rated by the world’s largest global brewery as top 15 out of 675 wholesalers is the high point of my 34 year Budweiser career! My dedicated staff of 165 associates deserves all the credit for their day in, day out dedication to our 1,600 grocery store, convenience store, bar, and restaurant customers. I must also thank our local beer consumers for their loyalty and dedication to our great beers.”
