Manatee County commissioners will decide whether to move forward with a surtax to fund indigent health care in the community, during it's March 12 meeting.
The item is scheduled to be heard at 10 a.m., in the commission's meeting chambers, 1112 Manatee Ave. W., Bradenton.
If approved, the proposed ordinance would provide for the levy of a discretionary health care sales surtax of .5% to be placed on the June 11 special election ballot.
A healthcare trust fund, established with monies from the sale of what is now Manatee Memorial Hospital, will be depleted in 2015.
