Four local educators headed to Richmond, Va., recently to learn about all aspects of educating children in science and technology.

Educators Elvita Phelan, Maria Laura Jones, Debbie Smith and Cheryl McGrew attended the Children's Engineering Convention, which was held this year Feb. 20-26.

The convention included a variety of STEM-related workshops, and several keynote speakers from organizations such as NASA and the Virginia Department of Education worked to inspire the attendees.
