Former Florida Gov. Charlie Christ will be the keynote speaker at an upcoming Manatee County Democrats awards dinner and dance event.
Christ, who served as the Republican governor of Florida from 2006 to 2010, lobbied for President Barack Obama in the 2012 election, after running for a U.S. Senate seat as an independent in 2010.
The event, which will feature live music, cocktails, dinner and an auction, among other festivities, will start at 6 p.m. March 15, at the Polo Grill and Bar’s Fete Ballroom, 10670 Boardwalk Loop, Lakewood Ranch.
