HERITAGE HARBOUR — Giancarlo Facciolla has a new plan for business; it’s been keeping the semi-retired Heritage Harbour resident pushing full-steam ahead.
This weekend, Facciolla will introduce Heritage Harbour and the surrounding community to his new concept — a community specific, remodeling- and home- services-focused home show.
The event will run from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 16, at the Stoneybrook Golf Club, 8000 Stone Harbour Loop, Bradenton.
“The main thing I’m trying to do is to bring the home show to the community,” Facciolla said. “Big shows are nice, but (here) the contractors are going to be clearly defined to service the need of the community. Unlike traditional home shows, there will be no duplication (of services represented).”
Facciolla said the bulk of vendors represented — a painter, landscaper, home-security company, termite and pest control, custom-window design and others — are ones he’s dealt with personally through his concierge company, GF Management Services.
He included a hurricane shutter-installation company because of requests from Heritage Harbour residents for that service. Nearly every vendor at the show will be related to home remodeling or maintenance services, although there will be a few service-based vendors, including a chiropractor and a certified public accountant.
“I want to offer a tangible service that adds to property values (for homeowners),” Facciolla said. “We want to service that curb appeal first.
“(We want to) promote (businesses) within a community,” he said. “I’m trying, hopefully, to come up with something unique.”
The customized setting, he said, will give event-goers more one-on-one time with contractors.
There also will be hourly raffles, and contractors will be offering specials on services, Facciolla said.
Facciolla said he sees the Heritage Harbour home show, for which residents from a two-and-a-half-mile radius were invited, as the first of many community-specific home shows in the East County area. Property-management companies from more than 10 East County communities have been invited to attend, and their reaction will help determine which neighborhoods are targeted for future shows.
“I’m eager to see the community’s reaction,” Facciolla said.
