East County residents wishing to pluck juicy, red strawberries directly from the plant can take a short drive to make it happen.
Gamble Creek Farm in Parrish has opened for its first spring season of U-Pick strawberries.
“The response has been really positive,” Farm Manager Eric Geraldson said. “People can’t believe how sweet the strawberries are and the kids just love picking them.”
The U-Pick operation is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Wednesdays, and from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., Saturdays. The farm is located at 14950 Golf Course Road.
