WEEKEND BEST BET: Our Lady of the Angels Parish Festival

Tonight through Sunday, Our Lady of the Angels Catholic Church will host its Parish Festival fundraiser, at Premier Sports Campus, 5895 Post Blvd., Lakewood Ranch.
Activities include carnival rides, performances by community groups, concerts and more.
The event runs 5 to 10 p.m. Friday, Jan. 25, with a performance by Goodbye Eddie from 6 to 9 p.m.; 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 26, with The Ocean Band performing from 6 to 9 p.m.; and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 27.

Dancing group to host fundraiser

Members of KC and the Sunshine Dancers, a group of Manatee County dancers ages 8 to 20, will show off their dancing skills in jazz, hip-hop and contemporary dance from 7 to 9 p.m. May 28, as the group holds a show titled "Breaking Ground."
