Information from an anonymous tip is heightening security at the Manatee County Fair.
The Manatee County Sheriff's Office reported Thursday night it had received information a gang-related shooting would occur at the fair, which started last night in Palmetto.
The information has shown up on social media sites, as well.
The Sheriff's Office is continuing to investigate the threats and is working with fair officials to ensure the fair is as safe as possible.
The same type of threat was received before last year's fair, as well, the report states.
