More than 70 Manatee County will soon receive much-needed classroom funding.
At a 3 p.m. ceremony Jan. 13, the Manatee Education Foundation will distribute CaSh for Cla$$room grants, which average about $500 per grant, to teachers of schools in the western portion of the county.
A second grant distribution ceremony for teachers in the East County will be held at 3 p.m., Jan. 20 at Braden River High School.
The funding allows teachers to provide their students with special projects, unique program ideas and supplemental supplies and materials. In total, the foundation is expected to dole out more than $75,000 under the grant program in 2010.
