Despite the cold, rainy weather, East County residents gathered on Lakewood Ranch Main Street from 6-9 p.m., tonight for the shopping center’s monthly Music on Main concert.
McNeal class enjoys Snow Day

Students in Kathy Kimes kindergarten class at McNeal Elementary celebrated the cold weather with a special Florida Snow Day Jan. 8. Classroom activities included ice skating with wax paper, building a snowman and tossing snowballs outside.

McNeal kids get comfy, cozy with pajama day celebrations

Students at McNeal Elementary School celebrated the end to a first semester and welcomed in the new year with a Pajama Day Dec. 18. Many classes at the school also held pajama parties.

The Tabernacle church held performances of its annual Living Nativity show last week. Nightly performances, which concluded Dec. 20, drew hundreds of East County residents.

The Diane Partington Studio of Classical Ballet performed its annual production of "The Nutcracker" Dec. 19-20 at the Sarasota Opera House. The production featured several East County dancers, including Mill Creek's Ally Rahn as Clara. The performance, a Christmas tradition for the studio, featured students as well as guest dancers.

East County residents gathered on Lakewood Ranch Main Street for the sixth annual grand Hanukkah celebration hosted by the Chabad of Bradenton & Lakewood Ranch Thursday. Festivities included live music, face painting, concessions, a Dreidel House and a grand Menorah lighting ceremony, among others.
