+ Lakewood Ranch Colts win Super Bowl
The Lakewood Ranch YMCA Mighty Mites tackle football team completed its perfect regular season with a 6-0 Super Bowl victory over the Parrish Steelers Nov. 10. The Colts then advanced to the American Youth Football regional championships, in which they finished fourth.
+ Sollazzo’s hat trick leads the Mustangs
Lakewood Ranch High’s Ryan Sollazzo netted his first hat trick of the season to lead the Mustangs to a 4-0 victory over rival Braden River in a Class 4A-District 11 match Nov. 28.
Jeison Castillo also scored one goal, and Liam Bamley recorded his third shutout.
+ Lady Pirates sail past the Lady Indians
The Braden River High girls basketball team defeated Venice 59-45 Nov. 29.
Madison Jaco paced the Lady Pirates with 14 points. Kiki Mitchell added eight points and nine rebounds.
The Lady Pirates followed up their win with a 54-38 victory over Charlotte in district action Nov. 27.
Erica Glisson had 14 points, Kelly Logan had 13 points and Cheyenne Ogline had 10 points to lead the way for the Lady Pirates.
+ ODA boys soccer team tops Canterbury School
The Out-of-Door Academy boys soccer team defeated the Canterbury School 3-1 Nov. 27.
Bryan Kirshe, Trevor Gorji and Hunter Clarke all scored goals for the Thunder. Goalkeeper Owen Han had two saves.
