EAST COUNTY — The new Nate’s Place Animal Adoption Center on Cooper Creek Boulevard will hold its grand opening from 1 to 3 p.m. March 3.
Nate’s Place, operated by Nate’s Honor Animal Rescue, opened the retail adoption center to support the non-profit organization, whose mission is to save the lives of homeless pets.
The storefront location, which re-opened in late December, carries pet gift items and a small number of dogs and cats available for adoption. Those animals stay the business day and then return to the rescue’s ranch facility on Lorraine Road, which will remain the main center of operations and adoptions.
The grand opening will feature door prizes and appearances by families who have adopted animals from Nate’s Place.
Robin Renna, an author and Honor Animal Rescue volunteer, will be in attendance. Renna wrote her book, “Kumba’s Courage,” about a dog she adopted from Nate’s Place.
Nate’s Place, located in The Shoppes at University Town Center plaza west of Interstate 75, is open from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily, with adoptions from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Sundays and from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturdays. Adoption fees start at $65.
