The following information was gathered from incident and arrest reports obtained from the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office.

COOPER CREEK
Oct. 5
8:50 p.m. — 8539 Cooper Creek Blvd. (Total Wine & More). Retail theft. Three unknown black female suspects walked into the store, and one of the suspects walked out of the store with property for which she did not pay. The suspects then fled the scene in a white SUV heading in an unknown direction. A deputy checked the area for the suspects. The responding deputy told the complainant to call the sheriff’s office back when the day shift manager came into work, so he could make a copy of the suspects seen on video while in the store.

MANDALAY
Oct. 5
1:30 p.m. — 6200 block of 45th Lane East. Petit theft. The complainant reported an unknown person stole six lawn sprinkler heads from her lawn. The sprinkler heads were unscrewed from the plumbing on the side of the house that is next to the new house construction. This is an ongoing problem and marks the fourth time this has taken place in the last four months. The value of the stolen sprinkler heads is $90.

MYAKKA CITY
Reported Oct. 5
6:35 p.m. — 8300 block of Verna Bethany Road. Identity theft. The victim reportedly invited the suspect to reside in her home. On Aug. 4, Bright House came to the residence to turn on the cable, phone and Internet. The suspect had arranged for the services to be turned on and wrote a check to Bright House. The victim thought he had done this in his own name, especially because he wrote a check to open the account. The victim later found out that the suspect had opened the account in her name without her permission or knowledge. The suspect also put a stop payment on the check he wrote. There is an outstanding balance of $403 on the account.

Reported Oct. 6
9:38 a.m. — 19900 block of State Road 64 East. Grand theft. The victim reported she had noticed that there was jewelry missing out of her jewelry box, which was located in her master bedroom. She advised she searched the house for the six missing pieces and was unable to find them, indicating a possible theft. The victim filled out a sworn statement indicating a possible suspect and the events that occurred.

OTHER
Oct. 3
5:25 p.m. — 3800 block of State Road 70 East. No valid driver’s license. The responding deputy ran a Florida tag and was advised that there was no Florida driver’s license for the registered owner. The deputy stopped the vehicle to see if the registered owner was in fact the driver and if he had a valid driver’s license. The driver said he doesn’t have a driver’s license in the United States and presented a Mexican driver’s license with a Florida address on it. The suspect was arrested.
