Fraudulent use of a credit card. The victim reported her credit cards were used in several Manatee County locations after a burglary occurred at her business in Sarasota County. Reported Sept. 27
10:05 a.m. — 644 67th Street Circle E. (Days Inn). Theft from building. The victim said she had $9,000 cash stolen from her extra purse while it was in her hotel room. She said she believes it was one of two housekeepers. The two housekeepers were interviewed, and they said they knew nothing about it. It is unclear why the victim waited to report the incident. The two suspects are only possible suspects.

Sept. 27
3:30 p.m. — 3300 block of 49th Avenue E. Battery. The complainant reported her juvenile son came home from the bus stop, where he had been hit in the neck and leg with a stick. The suspect had been urinating by the stop sign and, for some unknown reason, became angry at the victim for walking away. The suspect grabbed a stick and hit the victim in the leg and neck, leaving a red mark on his neck. The victim then ran home to report the incident to his mother. The red mark had gone away before the responding deputy arrived. The deputy was unable to speak to the suspect, because the victim and his mother did not know where he lives. The complainant said she’s going to talk to the school about the incident to get more information.

SARASOTA
Sept. 30
Noon — 5231 University Parkway (Red Elephant).
Petit theft. The victim parked his car in the restaurant parking lot while he was working. When he returned to his vehicle, he discovered someone had taken the pipe connecting his catalytic converter to the muffler.
