We all scream for ice cream!
6:15 p.m. — 36255 S.R. 70 E. (Miller’s General Store). Retail theft. The suspect entered the store and was observed on surveillance video concealing a package of ice cream in his jacket and then exiting the store without paying for the item. The suspect then returned to the store and the complainant confronted him. The suspect denied stealing the ice cream. He then left the store in a gold or tan Toyota car, traveling eastbound on State Road 70. Law enforcement viewed the video and positively identified the suspect. The complainant was unable to make a copy of the video at the time of the incident but was instructed not to delete the video. The suspect was arrested at his residence without incident.

Dancing group to host fundraiser

Members of KC and the Sunshine Dancers, a group of Manatee County dancers ages 8 to 20, will show off their dancing skills in jazz, hip-hop and contemporary dance from 7 to 9 p.m. May 28, as the group holds a show titled "Breaking Ground."
