The following information was gathered from incident and arrest reports obtained from the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office.
10:31 p.m. — 4200 block of Dover Drive E. Making Harassing Telephone Calls. The complainant reported she has received in excess of 60 calls to her cell phone since May 26. The calls all originated from the same number. Of the approximately 40 calls that she has answered, she has had a conversation with a muffled, soft childlike voice that she said she believes has asked for help. The calls that have gone to her voicemail that she has listened to only had background noise. She has repeatedly asked the caller to stop calling her number, which he or she has repeatedly ignored. Both phone numbers have the same Illinois area code. The complainant has saved several of the voicemails. The responding deputy attempted to call the phone number, but after two rings the call went to an automated message stating the voicemail had not been set up.
2:50 p.m. — 100 block of 41st Circle E. Burglary to a Dwelling. Unknown person(s) used unknown means to force open the front door, breaking the doorframe, and entered the residence. Once inside, the person(s) removed several items, including a firearm. Crime-scene officers responded and processed the scene with negative results.
4:56 p.m. — 4900 block of 34th Avenue E. Death Investigation. The complainant found her husband unresponsive and called 911. EMS responded and pronounced him dead. The husband had been found on the floor of his bedroom, where family members, who tried to administer CPR, had moved him. The complainant indicated her husband might have been overmedicating with Oxycontin and Xanax that he had been prescribed for back pain. She said the back pain was the only medical condition her husband had.

On July 13, she injected one of her medications into her stomach five times. She barricaded herself in the bedroom, causing the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office to force open the door. She stated she wanted to kill herself. The defendant had been Baker Acted previously. She was again taken into protective custody under the Florida Baker Act. Due to an unexplained outburst, the defendant had to be restrained to her hospital bed and sedated.
2:15 p.m. — 8200 block of 72nd Street E. Criminal Mischief $200 and Under. The defendant intentionally damaged a dog run belonging to the victim. The defendant was subsequently arrested.
