The following information was gathered from incident and arrest reports obtained from the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office.
BRADEN RIVER
May 6
8:20 p.m. — 5245 51st St. E. (Braden River Park). Auto burglary. The victim was attending a baseball game. When she arrived back at her vehicle, she discovered the passenger side front window had been broken out and her purse was missing. Several other vehicles in the parking lot were broken into in the same manner.
GREYHAWK LANDING
Reported May 7
11:28 a.m. — 700 block of GreyHawk Boulevard. Criminal mischief. An unknown suspect reportedly pulled the vehicle up to the north entrance gate while the wooden gate arm was down. An unknown white male suspect exited the passenger side and pushed the gate arm forward, breaking it. The suspects fled the vehicle southbound inside GreyHawk Landing. The cost to fix the gate was $250. The complainant waited a week to report the incident because he has been extremely busy and was conducting his own in-house investigation to see if the suspects live in GreyHawk Landing. The complainant’s results came up negative. A video of the incident was obtained and placed into property and evidence.
LAKEWOOD RANCH
May 5
8:19 p.m. — 11100 block of Bullrush Terrace. Burglary to a residence. The suspect(s) entered the residence by breaking the bathroom window. Once inside, it is believed the suspect(s) were scared by the alarm, as items were disturbed inside the residence but nothing was missing.
MILL CREEK
May 5
8 a.m. — 500 block of 135th Street East. Burglary to a residence. Unknown person(s) entered the residence by smashing the window in the front door. Once inside, the person(s) stole several items. The person(s) then fled in an unknown direction by unknown means.
8:45 a.m. — 1000 block of Mill Run East. Armed burglary. Unknown person(s) smashed the side glass door of the victim’s residence. Once inside, the person(s) removed about $510 in property. The person(s) also armed themselves after removing the victim’s firearm from a side dresser in the master bedroom. The firearm was later located on the kitchen counter. The scene was dusted for prints, and photographs were taken.
OTHER
May 6
7:45 a.m. — 6545 53rd Ave. E. (Braden River High). Missing juvenile. The complainant reported her teenage son had refused to come home, and she is unaware of his whereabouts. The juvenile was last seen in the parking lot of Braden River High. A bolo was issued and he was entered missing into FCIC/NCIC.
May 7
5:45 p.m. — 9515 S.R. 64 E. (Freedom Elementary). Vehicle burglary. The victim was about 20 feet from her vehicle when a silver or gray Dodge charger pulled behind her vehicle. A black male with dreadlocks walked up to the driver’s side window. The suspect smashed the window and stole the complainant’s purse. The suspect then jumped into the passenger side of the suspect vehicle and fled out of the area at a high rate of speed. The vehicle was last seen traveling westbound on State Road 64. The vehicle was processed for latent prints. The value of the stolen purse and its contents is $720.

Dancing group to host fundraiser

Members of KC and the Sunshine Dancers, a group of Manatee County dancers ages 8 to 20, will show off their dancing skills in jazz, hip-hop and contemporary dance from 7 to 9 p.m. May 28, as the group holds a show titled "Breaking Ground."
