The following information was gathered from incident and arrest reports obtained from the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office.

BRADEN WOODS
Reported Feb. 2
11:35 a.m. — 6500 block of 93rd Street East. Grand theft. The victim reported the theft of two gold rings. She stated she believes she knows who took the rings.

HERITAGE HARBOUR
Feb. 3
2 p.m. — 7100 block of Grand Estuary Trail. Lost property. The complainant reported he lost his wallet and its contents on the fairway. He had it in his golf bag. The credit card has been canceled and had not been used.

3:50 p.m. — 6500 block of Anchor Loop. Aggravated battery (dating). The suspect and the victim have been dating. The suspect went to the victim’s residence and zapped him with a stun gun several times after a verbal dispute. The suspect was arrested without incident. The stun gun was recovered and placed into property and evidence.

LAKEWOOD RANCH
Feb. 2
11:41 p.m. — 6200 block of Tupelo Trail. Burglary to an unoccupied vehicle. An unknown male attempted to enter the vehicle. A witness came out from his backyard and saw the male next to his neighbor’s vehicle. He notified his neighbor about the incident. The Manatee County Sheriff’s Office was notified. Deputies, K-9 and a watch unit checked the area with no positive results.

MYAKKA CITY
Reported Jan. 28
2:30 p.m. — 28500 block of Gopher Hill Road. Manufacturing marijuana. The Manatee County Sheriff’s Office’s Special Investigations Division executed a search warrant at the residence. Upon securing the residence, an indoor marijuana grow was located inside a garage. The marijuana plants were seized, and the homeowner was arrested.

OTHER
Jan. 27
3 p.m. — 3515 Morgan Johnson Road (Bashaw Elementary). Child abuse investigation. A complainant was received by the abuse registry alleging that a teacher choked a student that was trying to fight another child. The teacher was trying to pull the student off of the other student. An investigation revealed that the teacher’s actions were appropriate and the case did not meet the criteria for a child abuse crime.

Reported Feb. 1
2:55 p.m. — 5225 University Parkway (M&I Bank). Fraudulent use of a credit card. According to the victim’s notarized letter, a credit transaction was made at a financial institution within Manatee County after her purse was stolen, using one of her stolen credit cards.

Reported Feb. 2
3:30 p.m. — 7100 block of State Road 70. Fraudulent use of a credit card. The victim’s credit card and checking account information were reportedly duplicated and used to make six fraudulent purchases for a total loss of $278.21.

5:21 p.m. — 2911 53rd Ave. E. (Wal-Mart). Theft. While the complainant was in the checkout line, she saw a shadow as if somebody had reached into the cart where her items were. She looked and observed an unknown white female with all white hair in a bun, wearing an all white long sleeve outfit and standing about 5-foot-6 with a medium build. The female was walking away with her hand behind her back, as if she was hiding something. Another checkout lane opened up and the complainant moved to that checkout lane. She then realized her keys and belongings were missing from her pocketbook. There was a delay in calling 911 due to Wal-Mart attempting to locate the suspect to no avail. Loss prevention checked the store’s video and could not locate any person matching that description on past or present video. The deputy searched the parking lot for the subject but observed nothing.

Feb. 3
4 p.m. — 5205 University Parkway (Kohl’s). Retail theft. The defendant was arrested for shoplifting. Prior to her arrest, a subsequent search found the defendant was in possession of marijuana. The defendant also was issued a trespass warning.
