The following information was gathered from incident and arrest reports obtained from the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office.
GREENBROOK
Jan. 2
6 p.m. — 13800 block of Wood Duck Circle. Auto Burglary. Unknown person(s) entered the victim’s locked vehicle while it was parked in the driveway by smashing a window. The person(s) removed an undisclosed amount of property. Multiple vehicle burglaries occurred in the area during the same time frame.
10:30 p.m. — 6600 block of Turnstone Lane. Auto Burglary. Unknown person(s) broke out the driver’s side front window of the victim’s vehicle and removed a change purse, which was recovered on the next-door neighbor’s lawn.
Jan. 3
4 a.m. — 6400 block of Blue Grosbeak Circle. Criminal Mischief. Unknown person(s) broke out the rear passenger side window of the victim’s vehicle while it was parked in the driveway. There were no signs of forced entry and nothing was moved. The vehicle was processed for fingerprints. The victim’s girlfriend reported seeing two white males, wearing hooded sweatshirts, on bikes around 4:30 a.m. on Greenbrook when she returned home; however, she stated nothing seemed out of the ordinary.
MILL CREEK
Jan. 2
11 p.m. — 13500 block of Second Avenue Northeast. Grand Theft Auto. Unknown person(s) took the victim’s two dirt bikes from his driveway. Both bikes were strapped down on a trailer in the driveway. The bikes are valued at $6,000.
SUMMERFIELD
Dec. 30
1 p.m. — 6200 block of Rosefinch Court. Information Report. The complainant reported her 51-year-old brother keeps coming over to her residence to ask her mother for money. The complainant wanted this situation documented and also stated she would be calling to have him trespassed the next time he came around.
UNIVERSITY PLACE
Reported Jan. 1
1:36 p.m. — 7700 block of Drayton Circle. Grand Theft. The victim reportedly allowed her niece and her niece’s son to stay in her residence while she was out of town. When she returned, she noticed several rings were missing. The victim learned from her niece that a male suspect had taken the items and pawned them in Georgia.
12:33 p.m. — 3500 block of 65th Avenue Circle East. Petit Theft. The victim reported she placed three gift cards in the mailbox, so they could be sent to her parents in South Carolina. A week later, her family notified her that they hadn’t received the gift cards. The victim researched the cards and found out unknown person(s) used two of them in Manatee County. The victim spoke to a loss-prevention officer who has video and information on the transaction that was made with one of the gift cards. A Red Lobster card was used Dec. 26, and a Lowe’s card was used Dec. 27.
