Lakewood Ranch High School will host the 2009 Mustangs Music in Motion band competition Saturday night.
Thirteen bands will be performing in the event, which kicks off with the National Anthem at 6:15 p.m., Nov. 7, at the high school, 5500 Lakewood Ranch Blvd.
Braden River High School is scheduled to take the field at 8:15 p.m., while Lakewood Ranch High School for 9:15 p.m.
The evening will conclude with a performance by the University of South Florida Drum Line.
Admission to the event is $10.

Dancing group to host fundraiser

Members of KC and the Sunshine Dancers, a group of Manatee County dancers ages 8 to 20, will show off their dancing skills in jazz, hip-hop and contemporary dance from 7 to 9 p.m. May 28, as the group holds a show titled "Breaking Ground."
