The new identity for Circus Sarasota was a necessary one. There are so many little acts that have developed since Dolly Jacobs and Pedro Reis began the nonprofit 17-years-ago that they needed one big top name to straighten it all out.
Circus Sarasota is all grown up, and will now be known as "The Circus Arts Conservatory" with newly named Sailor Circus Academy, Education and Humor Therapy Programs. It will focus on four areas: Performance, training, outreach and legacy — just like before, but on a higher level.
"This season is going to be bigger and better than ever," Dolly Jacobs promises at the rebranding barbeque Saturday, Nov. 2.
