Carreño Dance Festival, a summer program in its third season, has a new name, the “Carreño Master Class Series.”
The Carreño Master Class Series is set to take place July 29 through Aug. 17 at the Sarasota Opera House and studios of Sarasota Cuban Ballet.
Each day, participants will experience what it is like to be in a professional ballet company: full company class, multiple chorographers, a mix of dance styles, renowned teachers such as Loipa Araújo, and dancing alongside professional dancers such as Master Teacher Jose Carreño. Last year, there were 88 participants from around the world. Local auditions for potential students take place Saturday, Feb. 17 at Sarasota Cuban Ballet School.
