Students in Lakewood Ranch High School’s Drama Department earned top honors at the International Thespian Society District 6 competition last week.
The department’s one-act play, "(Ab)Normal" received straight "superior" ratings at the Jan. 23 competition and has been selected to represent District 6 in the Florida State Thespian Festival in April in Tampa.
The department was recognized for best tech, best sound, best lighting and best dramatic actor. In individual events, the group received 12 "superior" ratings and two "excellent" ratings. All 23 students who competed in the festival qualified for the Florida State Thespian Festival.
