At least four East County youth will be performing in the “Death by Chocolate” concert at Booker High School tonight and Saturday.
This night of jazz featuring the Berklee Award-winning Booker High School Vocal Jazz ensemble and Jazz Combo includes live performances as well as a hearty supply of chocolate, coffee, tea and hot chocolate. Performances will be held at 7:30 p.m., Jan. 22 and at 7 p.m., and 8:30 p.m., Jan. 23 at Booker High School, 3201 N. Orange Ave., Sarasota.
“It’s really an enjoyable night,” East County student performer Andrea Medred said. “It’s all professional charts. It’s really relaxed and we have a lot of fun.” Other East County youth performing in the event include Josie Fleming, Donnie DeFraties and Mary-Katherine Kerr. Tickets cost $10.
