Three Ring Circus

Take that Ringling Bros. Barnum & Bailey Circus! Sarasota now has its own three-ring circus, well enough clowns to make one, that is. TideWell Hospice and Palliative Care kicked-off its "Clowning Around Town" project with a preview party on Friday, Sept. 22, at the Van Wezel Performing Arts Hall. The preview party was the first partof the project, which benefits TideWell Hospice and Palliative Care's Children's Services Program.
Guests at the preview party, which was co-chaired by Jackie Massey and Sheryl Vieira, were able to get a sneak peek at the clowns created by celebrity and corporate artists that will be placed all over Sarasota starting in October until April 2007. The Van Wezel was dotted with different clowns and circus-like decorations like roses in popcorn box vases. Guests dined on fare by Michael's On East and enjoyed different activities like caricatures by Michael White's Cartoon Company, circus shows by Fritzy Brothers One-Man Circus and dancing to music by New Deal.
We're looking forward to the "Clowning Around Town" Gala Auction on May 12 at Marie Selby Botanical Gardens, which will be chaired by Chris Pfahler. |
